ABOUT THE MUSIC

Dear Daughter: Your Life Matters: My anthem calling for an end to racism and my words of advice to my young daughter to stand against it.

Ndagukunda: My first complete song in Kinyarwanda. Amazing the reaction to this beautiful song. I have heard it played at weddings across East Africa.

Karma ft Bruce Melody. I loved doing this track with the very talented Bruce Melody surprised a few people with this Afro beat classic.

Hallway to Love with Cynthia Gentle..  Such a sweet sweet love song.

Nicheze Nawe. I remember my friend John saying I love your music but why cant you give us something we can dance to. That inspired Nicheze Nawe. I was sititing with my friend Brinch  who is from Congo asking him please give me some  Swahili words that described dancing. After beating some rythmns on the back of a guitar 10mins later Nicheze Nawe was born. Its a song about  a guy who falls in love with a girl who he meets on holiday the night before he has to leave.

Love Again. My friend Mani Martin and I had talked about doing something together. I was writing some songs for another artist and then I though no this song is meant for Martin. I sent him the melody he loved it and a month later we were in the studio together. The song desribed a guy who falls for a girl who is recovering from a broken heart asking him to trust her to, 'love again.'

Window Of Peace. An inspiring song encouraging the people of Rwanda and others who have endured conflicts around the world to learn                                    to forgive and to work towards building a, ‘brighter tomorrow.’ The chorus is very uplifting and I especially love the                                            choir  and vocal performances of the Rwandan artists including Queen and Jean Paul which greatly enhance the track.

Back To The Start. I wrote this song when trying to come to terms with a very difficult relationship break up. It still moves me to perform                                        this song today. I hope anyone who has ever suffered a broken heart can relate to this.

I’ve Been Waiting. A very happy love song. It almost reminds me of calypso but it is a great song to sing along to when driving.

Rwandan Girl. Contrary to the opinion of Jean Paul this was not written about a certain Rwandan beauty but is another happy love song                                 about a long distance love affair one man has with a Rwandan Girl.

Sunshine. I always loved the chorus of this song and was delighted to finally record it. If Back to the Start was the pain of heart break                               Sunshine is emerging from the other side. I wrote this when I finally recovered from the pain of the heart break and could see                         the Sunshine coming through the clouds.

Why Did You Love Me. For me this is another song about trying to come to terms of why a relationship broke down when you thought it                                                was meant to be. Thank you Rachel Walker for backing vocals.

Love Revolution.  A big thank you to Blessing to letting us record this song with him. You can't help but dance and sing along to this. Come                                   on lets all start a love revolution.

African Queen. A very beautiful song of lost love. A couple who are kept apart by circumstances outwith their control. Makes me cry every                               time I listen to this song.

We Are One. A song with a universal message calling the world to join together as one. Very powerful. Thank you Elvis for bringing this                                 song to us.

Rwandan Dream This beautiful song is sung in part Kinyarwandan and part English. The song shares a very bright vision for the future of                                    Rwanda. Jean Paul and Iain's vocals work in great unison together with strong harmonies.
